God Is Good

Devotions:

“indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.”  ‭II Chronicles‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”  ‭II Chronicles‬ ‭

20:21-22

‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:30-35‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is the glory of the Lord that accomplished all of this from filling Solomon's temple to defeating the armies against Isreal to sending the world a savior through the womb of a virgin.  A little late in Luke 1:46-55 you find Mary praising God for His goodness.  In these three cases the people did nothing except praise God for His goodness and His mercy.  This season that we celebrate the coming of Jesus we should spend more time praising God for His goodness and His mercy that endures forever.  Just that one phrase will bring about what we have been praying about and longingly wanting.  We need to make sure that every time we open our mouth it is filled with praise of God for He is good and His mercy endures forever.  The greater the attack of Satan the more vehement our praise should be.  Praising God for His goodness and mercy is an act of faith and it builds strength in our souls to withstand the enemies attacks.

Saying that God is good is saying that there is no evil to be found in Him and the attacks did not come from Him but the enemy.  His mercy endures forever is saying that He will help us out of our situation.  As they sang this when they brought in the Ark of the Covenant and in 2 Chronicles 7 when they dedicated Solomon's temple the Holy Spirit filled the temple so that the priest could not stand to minister.  We are a greater temple build without hands but by God. As we stand praising God His glory will fill the real temple and not only will we not be able to stand but hearings and miracles will take place.
