One with God

Devotions:

“And Asa cried out to the LORD his God, and said, “ LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O LORD our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!””  ‭II Chronicles‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.”  ‭John‬ ‭17:21-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When King Asa saw himself and Judah as one with God, because of the covenant, He won the battle. He said O LORD, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You." He said that if the enemy prevailed against him, Asa, then the enemy would be prevailing against God.  Asa looked exclusively to God for his victory.  We must see ourselves as one with God.  When sickness and disease attacks our body we must see it as attacking God and in Jesus God has already dealt with sickness and disease.  When lack attacks us we must see it as attacking God because we are one with God though the New Covenant.  Asa said "we rest on You," talking to God.  We must come to the place of resting only on God based on the covenant which we have with the Father through Jesus.

We died with Jesus, we were buried with Him and we rose with Him to newness of life in an eternal covenant.  All God has is ours and all that we have belongs to God.  As we can call upon God's resources in our time of need and expect God to answer because He has bound Himself by His word, even so God can call on our resources when He needs them and we are to freely give what He asks.  What resources that we have that He needs? Our voice, our hands, our feet to go and proclaim the good news of our redemption.

Many times we are unwilling to yield our members to God when He asks and then wonder why we have a hard time receiving from Him.  It is not that He is holding blessings back from us it is we have a hard time receiving from Him when our back is turned towards Him.  We are one with Him by the new birth. Start thinking this way and see your victory come forth.
