Eternity

Devotions:

Death is an irrefutable fact.  Everyone dies a physical death.  When you are young it seems far away unless someone your age dies or you are faced with a terminal disease.  Death comes to all and after physical death, what next.  From our five physical senses we have no way of knowing.  It is like an unknown door which no one knows what is behind it.  Different religions have different theories but no actual proof.  But in Christianity we have someone that history attest to as being a person in history who has died and rose again.  Not only that He claims to exist from the beginning with no beginning of days and no end of days.  He tells us of hell of eternal torment and heaven of eternal good.

"If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled, than, having your two hands, to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire, [ where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. ] If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame, than, having your two feet, to be cast into hell, [ where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. ] If your eye causes you to stumble, throw it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell, where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. (‭Mark‬ ‭9‬:‭43-48‬ NASB)

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬ NASB)

"Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭1-3‬ NASB)

Live your life in the light of eternity.

So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. (‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ NASB)
