Devotions:

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;" (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ NASB)

"For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God."

(‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭22-24‬ NASB)

"to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." (‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ NASB)

We are called to walk a holy and righteous life.  This life is not possible by the works of the flesh.  Here Paul speaks of our flesh as an earthen vessel.  An earthen vessel cannot produce life.  The treasure is the life of God.  This life of God is holy and righteous and good.  As we allow the life of God to manifest through us we walk in holiness and righteousness.  When we walk in the flesh we then walk in unrighteousness and unholiness.  The earthen vessel has not the ability to walk in holiness and righteousness.  When we look to the earthen vessel to act right on its own it will fail and then we will have guilt heaped upon us because we failed.

Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God and Christ is in us.  Christ is us the secret of the Gospel.  Christ in us is our ability to walk in God's holiness and righteousness.  The vessel must yield to the the life of Christ in us.  The surpassing greatness of God's power dwells in us and as we yield to it God gets all the glory.  We are called to walk in the power of God in our day to day life.  His power is in us.
