The Victory of Faith

Devotions:
Our training as human beings is that we are victims of sickness and disease, of poverty, of catastrophes and anything else bad that comes our ways. We look to God and say why is God allowing all these bad things to happen to me and my family? But God is not the author of the evil not does He determine who will be inflicted with the evil.
I Peter 5:7 Peter tells us that satan is looking for opportunities to inflict us. In Mark 4: 15,17 Jesus tells us that satan steals the word of God from us when we do not understand it and sends persecution and afflictions to steal the word from us. So the author of our troubles is the devil and our opening the door to let him into our lives.
But Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming the curse for us,
Galatians 3:13. Originally, when God created man He gave him the authority over all living thing and all the earth and that included his own body. So we have authority over our bodies and sickness and disease does not have authority over our bodies. We have been redeemed and Jesus bore our illnesses and carried our diseases, Matthew 8:17 and by His stripe we were healed 1 Peter 2:24. The reason that we do not see the reality in our own lives is because we do not believe what God has said in His word. So we try the word and do not see immediate results and we give up thinking that it does not work or we do not really understand what the word says.
Start a meditation notebook for what you need, healing or finances or peace or joy... and go through the Bible and write every scripture pertaining to that subject in the corresponding notebook and read meditate on the verses daily. I read them over 100 times a day. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ, Romans 10:17. As you do this it will build your faith to receive what God has already provided in Christ Jesus. Then as the devil comes to put doubt and unbelief into your heart, use these verses against him as you choose to believe the word of God and not his lies. Too often we try to withstand doubt and unbelief just by our will power. We have to use our wills but we must let the word of God do the work.
We are not victims, we are Victors through what God has done through Christ Jesus as revealed in His word.
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith." (1 John 5:4 NASB)
