Control
Devotions:
Many Christians believe that God is in absolute control of everything that happens on earth or anywhere for that matter. But if that were true then God would be cruel and sadistic. God gave the lordship of the earth of mankind so that we have the final say in what happens. If we are worshipping other gods then we open the door for satan to do what he wills. If we are serving the Lord God then we can use our authority to bring things in line with God's will. Just because we are serving God does not mean that things will work out, we must use our authority and speak to our situation and command it to line up with God's will. Jesus said that according to your faith it shall be done to us. What we allow is allowed and what we prohibit is prohibited.
We face consequences to our actions. We cannot rob a bank then prohibit ourselves from being caught. The act of robbing a bank has consequences.
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:1-4 KJV)
One way that we release our authority is through our prayers. Paul tells us to pray for our rulers. The Roman rulers at the time of Paul were very corrupt and cruel. What better reason to pray for our rulers. This in not job for one person but if each person will take up the task to pray for rulers that they would walk in the ways of godliness and righteousness and truth then the enemy would not be able to deceive them. God's desire is that we have good peaceful government that the Gospel of the Kingdom would go unhindered to the world.
Take your place in prayer.
