Devotions:
"everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” (Isaiah 43:7 ESV)
"O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells." (Psalm 26:8 ESV)
"How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!" (Psalm 84:1 ESV)
"Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV)
"What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." (2 Corinthians 6:16 ESV)
We are the dwelling place of the Creator of the universe, the Almighty God. His Glory dwells within us, that is the manifestation of His goodness. We are to walk in that glory every day and even as Moses' face shone from the brilliance of his encounter with the glory of God, as minute an encounter as it was, so ours should demonstrate more of that glory. Moses' face had a diminishing glory shining through it because his sins were not forgiven, just a promise of forgiveness had been given. All of our sins have been forgiven in Christ Jesus so that we can hold more sustained glory. We are in righteousness so the glory has found a home in us. Paul says in Romans that the glory of God is the Holy Spirit and He dwells in us and makes us beautful.
It is only when we take time to dwell with Him do we begin to understand His indwelling presence and receive the full benefit of His presence. Do you love the habitation of His house and the place where His glory dwells. To the Psalmist it was the Tabernacle of Moses and then the Temple of Solomon, but now it is the church of the living God. We are His dwelling place.
