Goodness of His Glory

Devotions:
"Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" (Romans 2:4 KJV)
It is God's goodness towards us that brings us to receive Jesus and be born again. But do limit the goodness of God to our initial salvation. As we behold God's goodness continually we are in the continual process of repentence, that is turning more and more towards God and away from our carnal life. God's goodness is God's glory.
"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:17-18 KJV)
We behold His glory as we minister to Him and remind Him of His goodness towards us, His glory manifest to us. This glory is the revelation of His love for as administered by the Holy Spirit. Paul talks about the riches of His goodness and forbearance and longsuffering. As we meditate on His goodness continually we become more and more convinced of His love and we are transformed. We despise His goodness, forbearance and longsuffering by ignoring it and not majoring on it, speaking about it to others, and showing our appreciation for it by giving praise and thanksgiving for all that He has done in our lives. This is not based on our experience but by faith in what the Word of God says is true. As we honor Him through our praise and thanksgiving then the reality of His Word that we have not seen manifest in our lives begins to manifest. It is true whether we see it manifest or not but it is our inheritance.
Do not despise God's goodness, forbearance and longsuffering but get excited about what He has done, meditate on it until it strikes your emotions and overpowers you. God is so good to us that there are not words to describe it.
