Work of Righteousness

Devotions:

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ KJV)

"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever." (‭Isaiah‬ ‭32‬:‭17‬ KJV)

Righteousness is a gift that was given to us when we were born again.  We received the life and nature of God which is totally consistent with His nature.  We are as righteous as God is so we can stand in His presence without any sense of shame, guilt, condemnation or failure.  We stand sinless in His presence by the blood of Jesus.

Because of this righteousness we have peace with God and as we accept what God has done we have peace with ourselves.  This enternal peace is because we are right with God by the sacrifice of Jesus.  Peace in Hebrew means more than lack of strife or conflict, it means wholeness, nothing lacking and nothing broken.  By this righteousness we are united with God and all that we ever need is in Him.  We are complete and whole in Him.

"And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:" (‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ KJV)

We need to embrace that we are one with the God of the universe by His doing and walk in it,  The work of righteousness is quietness.  We do not have to be loud and boisterous because we know that we and highly favored by our Heavenly Father.  We will live quiet lives in total security because we know that our Father is watching over us affectionately and carefully.  We have no fear of trouble of calamity because Yahweh, our God is with us.

The second work of righteousness is assurance forever.  We are assured of our prayers and request being answered becasue we stand one with Him. We stand assured of His love for us because He took us from being His mortal enemy to being His friend through the horrible cross of Jesus.

This is our righteousness given to as a gift through the cross of Jesus.  We did not earn it and we can never deserve it but none the less it is ours.  Glory!
