Works of Jesus
Devotions:
We have been briefly looking at the anointing upon Jesus and what He was anointed to do.
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 KJV
"Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.” John 5:19-20 KJV
"“Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” John 8:28-29 KJV
"“As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep."
"I and my Father are one.”
John 10:15, 30 KJV
Jesus built and maintained a relationship with the Father. He knew the Father's leading and He always obeyed the voice of His Father. The works that He did were not His own but the Father working within Him. This is important because we are called to do the same works of Jesus and more. We must do them in the same way, hear the voice of the Father and obey what He leads us to do. We do not operate independent of God but we are co-laborers with Him. As we hear and do His will we see signs, wonders and miracles that attest to the reality of God. Jesus said in John 15 that we could do nothing without Him as He could do nothing without the Father.
Do you believe that you can hear clearly from God? As you seek to act on your righteousness that is the gift of God you will develop a relationship with God and learn to know His voice.
