God's Goodness

Devotions:
“They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.”
Psalms 145:7-10 KJV
The abundant goodness of God is where we should make our dwelling place in our mind. The attributes of God as listed here paint a picture of God that just a casual reading of the Old Testament does not give. People many times see God as mean and vinctive. But here the Psalmist talks of God being gracious, that means to be predisposed to show favor to us. he is full of compassion and slow to anger, great in mercy. Not just a little mercy but great in mercy. God is good to all that includes you and me and His tender mercies, not just mercies but tender mercies. He is intimately concerned about our well being and prosperity. His tender mercies are over all His works. That then means the people who have not received His gift of eternal life are also under His tender mercies for now. We are to proclaim God's love for all of mankind. We are to demonstrate His graciousness, His compassion in our lives and proclaim His slowness to anger not to take advantage and live like we want. He is giving us space and time to turn to Him to be set free from the wickedness that would destroy us. Our focus is His praise coming from our lips. If you do not perceive God like this, take this word and start praising Him like it is true and it will become so in your life.
