Knowing God

Devotions:
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Jeremiah 31:31-34 KJV
God goes on to say that we will all know Him from the least of us to the greatest of us. In the Old Covenant only the prophet, priest or King had the spirit of God and that was only on them and not in them. So if anyone wanted to know what God was saying they had to go to the prophet, priest or King, like Saul looking for his father's lost asses. After they had exhausted their search, he and his servant went to Samuel to make inquiry as to their where abouts. Samuel told them by the Spirit of God that the asses were already found and then he anointed Saul to be king over Israel. In then New Covenant we have the Spirit of God within us. We all know God if we are born of Him. Our guidance does not come form a prophet but from the inner leading of the Holy Spirit who is within us. Also there power within us to over come all sins, sickness and diseases. This is what He means that we shall all know Him form the least to the greatest. We need to cultivate our sensitivity to God within us and to the leading of His voice. It is a great honor and privilege to be His holy temple. We are carriers of His presence that heals the sick and sets the captive free, all of us from the least to the greatest.
