But You Have Been Justified

Devotions:

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

        Paul says here that we were at one time of the world and acted just like the world, lying, cheating, committing sexual misconduct, drunkards, etc. but now that we are made new creatures we should act like new creatures, sons of God and not like the world.  As we walk by the spirit we will display who we really are, righteous and holy, not on the basis of our actions but on the basis of what Christ has done.  Walking by the spirit is walking by His new life within us.  If we try to do this by the energy of the flesh we will fail but as we come to Jesus knowing that we can do nothing without Him and that we are looking to the greater one within us we will see His life manifested through us. 

        This is another area that we use our faith and we do not necessarily see immediate results but as our faith grows as we proclaim who we are, the results will grow.  Initially we look like hypocrites but we are not proclaiming what we do or can do but what He has done in us. Everything that we receive from God we receive in our spirits and then by faith it works it's way into the natural where everyone can see it. 

        If you are born again, you are not of this world so stop going to the trash heaps of the world.  You area Son of God, start meditating on the word so you will act like one.
