Days of Heaven on Earth

Devotions:

“That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        What is the intended outcome of honoring the word of God?  That we would live long on the earth in the blessing of the Lord.  He describes it here as days of heaven on earth.  It is not good enough to live a long life on the earth if we are sick and miserable.  God wants us to live a good life where we do not have to wait until we get to heaven to enjoy His goodness.  God's goodness and blessings are available for us here now as we walk with Him.  We have an advantage over the Old Testament saints.  They experienced a small amount of this blessing though it was greater than any other peoples on the earth but they were still in their sins.  We have had our sins forgiven and removed by the blood of Jesus and the new birth.  As we walk in the light of what God has done in making us the righteousness of God in Jesus where we actually experience that righteousness imparted to our spirit so we are born again.  By this righteousness we can walk with the Father and experience His goodness to a much greater degree than the Old Testament saints.  We have the possibility of experiencing the love and goodness of the Father which the world does not know anything about.     

        This is the desire for our Father for every Chirstian and even for every human being.  This blessing comes into our spirit and flows out of us so the persecution of the world cannot steal it unless we allow it to be stolen.  As we walk in it we then change our circumstances to conform to heaven because that is what is in our souls.  Our God is so good.
