Free To Walk With God

Devotions:

“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are principles of life that if we follow lead us to a successful and fruitful life here on earth and benefit in the age to come.

“Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:33-34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law could not empower us to live right.  It can only show us where we missed it and sinned.  By grace we are not only forgiven but also emopowered to live a godly life.  As we walk in God's way it gives us length of days, long life and peace.  This is not so much God rewarding us for doing it His way but God showing us the way that works, the road to success.  The enemy's scheme is to get us to walk in the flesh and not in God's way and so walk in the way of misery, destruction and failure.  Our objective then is to learn to walk in God's way which is according to the new nature that He placed within us. Our new birth brings us into relationship with God and it is in walking in that relationship that we are set free from the destruction of a life of sin.  To awake unto righteousness is to walk as a son in the presence of our Father.  God's grace does not set us free to sin but sets us free from sin.  God is good and sin is the antithesis of God.  Sin will destroy you. In Jesus you are set free.
