Devotions:
How important are our words? Does what we say make a difference n our lives or the lives of others? God used words to create the worlds. God made us in His image and His likeness and gave us the ability to create our own world through our words. Even more powerful when our words are what God has spoken.
“Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!” Psalms 103:20 NASB
As we speak God's word after Him, there is a host of angels that go forth to perform what we say. We speak out of faith and not just mimicking the words like a parrot would do. Them mimic holds no authority but when we believe what we say and speak from a heart of conviction then those words will come to pass as performed by the angels.
Whatever word we speak will come to pass if we believe what we say, positive or negative. Too often we believe and speak the negative about ourselves and others even when God is speaking the positive. When we fill our hearts with the word of God by meditating on the good things from the word of God then we will believe and say what God says. But if we allow our circumstances and experiences to dominate our thinking then we will believe and speak the negative that is in the world because Satan is the god of this world and he manipulates our circumstances and experiences if we allow him to do it.
“Zacharias said to the angel, "How will I know this for certain? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years." The angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time."” Luke 1:18-20 NASB Here Zacharias allowed the negative from his experience of wanting a baby but never receiving one up into his and Elizabeth, his wife's old age, to influence his faith. He could not believe the word of the angel, a supernatural visitor, because he had allowed disappointment to come in and dominate him instead of expectation from God. Then angel had to shut his mouth to allow the miracle of John the Baptist to happen. Zacharias would have derailed the miracle with his mouth.
How many of your miracles have you derailed by your words of doubt and unbelief? If you feed exclusively on the world you will express the doubt and unbelief that is rampant there. But if you choose to spend time meditating in the world of God daily then you will build then faith necessary to move your mountains. This faith is released in the words you say.
