Celebrating the Resurrection

March 27, 2016

Devotions:

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus form the grave.  This is the center point of Christianity. This is our victory over sin and the world.  This is the ultimate expression of the Creator's love for us.  Jesus died for our sins, all of them and is the full satisfaction before and offended God that everything has been made right again between His creation and Him.

“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”

‭Romans‬ ‭4:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is what makes Christianity different from all other religions.  This is what makes Christianity a relationship with our Creator and not a religion.  If you talk with people from other religions when they pray, they do not get answers.  In some religions people will entertain demons and gain a little supernatural power from the demons but that cannot compare with the power of our God.  Like Moses and the magicians of Pharoah's court when Moses came to deliver the children of Israel.  The magicians could copy the first three of Moses' miracles but after that they declared that what Moses did was by the hand of God.  We walk in more authority and power than Moses did because of Jesus' resurrection.  We were made the righteousness of God at Jesus' resurrection, to all who will receive Him.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” ‭John‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead which was our resurrection from the dead.  We have died to sin and the law that we are now in communion and fellowship with Him.  Our sins are forgiven. We have new life, His life, Eternal life and by that life we are pleasing to our Father and by that life we walk pleasing to our Father.  The power that we have is the power of love, the love of God for us and for His fallen world.  We are not only to receive this love but we are to disseminate throughout the world to introduce the lost to their Creator.

At His resurrection, Jesus showed Himself alive to over five hundred people.  Today He is still in the business of showing Himself alive through those who will believe.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."  ‭John‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!!!!!
