The Lord our Defense

“And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.”
Numbers 10:35-36 KJV
In the Old Covenant, when the presence of the Lord would accompany the children of Israel, they could expect the protection of the Lord their God. In Numbers 21 you have and incident of the children of Israel complaining and poisonous serpents came into the camp and started biting people resulting in their death. Why were there no incidents of serpents biting or even encountering the Israelites? Because God was protecting them. As we walk with God, in HIs presence we should expect the same protection and even more. As we follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit we could say with Moses, Rise up, Lord and let your enemies be scttered. Let them that hate you flee before you. Those that hate God hate us also, we are created in His image and likeness. So we should say, Rise up Lord and let your enemies be scattered`: and let them that hate you flee before you.
Secondly, Satan never sleeps but we must sleep. So we believe as we rest we say, Return O Lord unto the many thousands of Isreal. God will keep us safe as we rest.
