Mind Power

Devotions:
Our minds are very powerful which can be a blessing when it is hooked up with our spirits or it can be a curse if is not hooked up with our spirit. Our mind is controlled by the words that we speak. We can think something but it will not have near the effect until we speak it. Of course our beliefs affect our speech and what we allow ourselves to think upon affect our beliefs. We are to then govern what we allow our minds to think upon. Our thinking can block the flow of God's life and blessing to us. We receive from God only by faith. If we believe that God does not want us blessed then we will reject the blessing when it comes to us. If we believe that it is not God's will to heal then we will not receive God's healing.
“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.” Proverbs 4:23-24 NASB
What we allow to go into our minds will eventually enter into our heart. We can choose what we look at, what we hear, what we meditate on. We cannot choose to turn away from the negative, destructive sights and sounds without turning to the positive. When we choose the positive, the negative will fade away.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:6-8 KJV
This is the formula for a successful prayer life. A part is verse 8 where Paul tells us what we are to allow into our mind. As we focus on the positive of the goodness of God then we will walk in peace and full assurance of our prayers being answered and our victory in life. The secret is the renewing of our minds with the word of God. Many times even our feelings will be depressed and negative and we must take control over them by thinking and acting upon what God has said. As we reaffirm the truth of God's word in the face of the negative we become more and more established in the truth and our minds become more and more connected with our spirits and through our spirits to the Spriit of God.
