Faith Works The Word

June 23, 2016

Devotions:

The word of God always works when we work the word of God.  Too often we wait until we get in a desparate situation before we try to find out how God's word will work for us.  In 1Samuel 17 when David is before Saul before going to fight Goliath, Saul puts his armor on David to help him.  David took off the armor because he said that he had not tried it first.  He was not familiar with the armor to be able to effectively use it.  This is the way we are with faith so when we need it we do not know how to use it effectively and if the situation we are using the faith in is desparate then we generally do not see the results.  We must take our faith and learn to use it now when we do not necessarily need it in order to learn how it works so that when we need it we will know how to use it.

The only fight we have is the fight of faith.  Even against the enemy our fight is to stay in faith in what God has said.  To stand victorious takes practice.  Practice using your faith every day so when the need is staring you in the face you just laugh because you know that you have the victory already.  Faith comes by fellowshipping with the Father through the word of God. It is the revelation of the word in our hearts that we accept that builds faith in us.  This can be enhanced by us acting on what we already know.  As we grow in faith our victories become more and more substantial and our confidence grows in what God will do through His word.  God's word is His will.

Are you preparing for the battle or you just sleeping until the battle is upon you and you be found unprepared?
