The Day That the Lord Has Made

Devotions:

“I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”  ‭Psalms‬ ‭118:21-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We sing the last line but rarely do we realize that it is not talking about a 24 hour day but a day that has been for almost two thousand years.  This is the day of salvation.  This is the day of being set free of all the horrible, cruel things that Satan has bound us with to destroy us.  The day that the stone which the builders rejected became the head corner stone was the day that Jesus went to the cross and then rose three days later with our victory in His hand.  The people of God, the Jews, had rejected Him but God made Him the chief stone, the corner stone by which all other stones are measured.  This is the model that the Father made all of us to be. We cannot shape ourselves into the model but the Father has already done this.

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”  ‭1 John‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As we stare adoringly at the model of who God has made us, Jesus, we are transformed more and more into that image in our soul. The work of salvation is so phenomenal that it will take eternity to fully understand what God has done.  We have been set free from all that would destroy us and as Jesus boldly stands in the Father's presence to ask and receive what He needs so we can also.  Moses requested to see the glory of the Lord. The Lord told him that no one could see the fullness of God's goodness and live.  We can look more fully into the goodness of the Father that we see in Jesus and are transformed.  As Moses' face shone with the glory of God after he had seen the hinder part of God's goodness how much more shall our faces shine with the glory of God as we in righteousness look upon our Father and Jesus.  The shine on Moses' face faded, the shine our face will never fade as we renew it every day.  Rejoice and be glad in this day of salvation.
