The Name of Jesus: Expectation!

August 6, 2016

Devotions:

When you use the name of Jesus do you expect results. Remember it is not the loudness of your voice that brings results but the depth of your convictions, the strength of your faith that brings results.  Many times we try to make up the weakness of our convictions with the loudness of our voice.  When you pray in Jesus name is it just religious dressing on the end of your prayers or is it accessing and utilizing the power and authority of His name?  When we speak the name of Jesus do we expect to see a difference in the situation or we just trying saying it to see if something might happen? When we speak to sickness and disease in our own bodies do we expect a results even though we may not see any immediate physical evidence? Our expectation is the measure of our faith.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ‭Philippians‬ ‭2:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Do we really have the confidence that the word of God is true and that God is backing up His word when we act upon it? Your celebration is a demonstration of your expectation.  When you use the name of Jesus and setbacks come do you go into depression and worry or do you lean back with assurance and confidence rejoicing that you will see the word work for you. When the devil attacks, do you laugh at him because you know that he has already lost and you have won in Jesus?  This is what God does.
