Our Job: Demonstrating God.
January 23, 2017
Devotions:
“For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:”. Luke 6:32-37 KJV
We are to live our Chirstianity loud, not only in purity, holiness and righteousness but also in kindness and love. We love because He first loved us. If we have a cruelty and harshness about our Christianity then we are not truly representing God. God is a giver and a blessed even when people do not deserve it. We are not to judge them but to bless them. We are blessings looking for somewhere to happen. What if people take advantage of us, which they will, that is all right because we know who is our source. What will reach them is the love of God. We are to be expressions of that love. In order to be an expression of the love of God, we must walk in daily for ourselves. You cannot give what you have not received.
God is kind to the ungrateful and the evil, why? Because it is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. He has drawn us with His lovingkindness and tender mercies. We are God's agents in the earth to demonstrate God's kindness and tender mercies to those around us not just in words but in deeds and actions. Our deeds and actions are to be pure, holy and righteous demonstrations of God's love for a hurting and dying world.
Taste and see that the Lord is Good!
