His Word is Light

Devotions:

        “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:130‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        Salvation is when light comes into our spirit and soul.  When we are born again light comes into our spirit and as our souls are transformed light comes into us. Or the light that comes into us transforms us. Here the Psalmist says that the word of God gives light to us.  As we meditate on the word of God we are planting it into our souls and it brings light that liberates us from lies and sin. 

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        As we behold His glory, which is Jesus, in His word, which is Jesus, we are transformed by that glory. The glory is the knowledge of the Lord. We then allow the knowledge of the Lord into every area of our being. When anything is exposed to light you can be set free from it. If we try to hide our sins it just gives them a place to grow and fester.  When we have the word in us and we fall, we pick ourselves up and say, "No, that is not who I am."

        What is the solution for sin, to try harder to not sin? No it is to get into His presence often and bring our weakness to Him and ask for His strength.  Jesus said in Matthew 7 that if we build our house, our life by being a doer of His word we will be established on the Rock and we cannot be more by tragedy.
