Knowing God

Devotions:

The greatest privilege that we have is to know God and to walk with Him.  He dwells in us by His Holy Spirit so we do not have to beg Him to come down from heaven.  He does not walk beside us but in and through us because we are His temple.  The more we spend time walking with Him the more we become aware of His presence in us.  Paul prayed to the Ephesians church that they might have a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God.  When we know God we will know ourselves until them we are ignorant of the great work that God has done in us in delivering us from our evil selves and making us His sons.  When you know God, you will know your purpose in the universe and will have a reason to truly live.  The cry of our heart is to know Him in His fullness, This is what Moses prayed in Exodus 33, to know God's ways and to see His glory. Paul prayed in Colossians 1 that He would have a revelation of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding that he would walk in a manner worthy of the Lord to please Him in all things.  To know His will is to know Him. To please Him is to walk according to who we are in Christ, new creations.

Our heart cry then is to know Him, to walk with him, to be carriers of His presence and to release His presence wherever we go, a fragrance of life to those who know Him and a fragrance of death to those who do not know Him.  The death is because it shows them that they are abiding in death and there is a way out.  To labor with God is to walk with Him.
