Devotions:
“And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.” Deuteronomy 6:23 KJV
Egypt was a hard place of cruel bondage and slavery. As God had promised Abraham, He delivered the children of Israel from their cruel taskmasters and the cruel bondage. But that we as not all that God wanted to do. He brought them out of the slavery to bring them into a land flowing with milk and honey. Many times in their journey through the wilderness the Israelites expressed a desire to return to their bondage because they thought that was easier than trusting God.
God brought us out of sin through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus to bring us into eternal life with Him. Too often though we think that putting the flesh under is too hard and we want the easy way out. But the easy way is really the path to death and destruction. God wants us delivered from the ways of the world and the ways of the flesh. he just ask us to believe in His love for us. Do not look at where we came from and sat that it is better than what is a head. Jesus endured the cross by seeping His eyes on the joy that was set before Him, that is our reconciliation to the Father. Now look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.
