Like Precious Faith

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”  ‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is such a rich passage. Peter says that we have obtained faith like his that raised the dead and healed the sick through God. When God wrought our salvation He did it without compromising His righteousness.  Faith is access to Him and all that He is. He gave us His righteousness so that we could freely come into His presence and receive all that He is.  He has opened the door to His presence to us that we might know Him and walked in His presence intimately. The whole of our salvation is so that we could walk with Him in fellowship, like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden.  As we walk with Him in faith, His manifest presence becomes real to us and we experience more and more wholeness.  Ephesians 1:6 KJV says that we are accepted in the beloved.  We have not been rejected because of our imperfections and sin but in Jesus we were accepted. Many people experience rejection and abandonment but God says that He has accepted us and will never leave us or forsake us.  Even when we feel alone if we will embrace these truths in faith and praise Him for them, it will not be long before His manifest presence embraces us with this reality. Use the faith that He has given us and you will see why Peter calls it precious.
