His Presence
Devotions:
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3 KJV
This is the second time that Peter has said we receive the fullness of our salvation by knowing God, by spending time with Him. He called us to glory and virtue and He has provided everything necessary for us to fulfill our calling. This is the grace of God that by His divine power He has provided for us everything that pertains to life and godliness. That is deliverance from sin and the oppression of the devil, healing of our bodies, abundant provision for our needs, everything that pertains to life and godliness.
This is why Paul said that we who have received the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in his life through the one Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17. The gift of righteousness is the open door to freely come into His presence and commune with Him. It is by our spending time with our Heavenly Father that we partake of His provision by His power of all that is necessary for life and godliness. God is not a just barely adequate God but a God of over flowing abundance, more than enough that He delights in lavishing on you.
What must we do, act on the righteousness that He has freely bestowed upon us and keep our daily appointment to spend time in the presence of His love.
