God is Love, God is Just

Devotions:

God is a God of love. This means that He is also a God of justice.  He must hate anything that is contrary to that love. Sin which is contrary to love then must be judged.  Jesus took all our judgement upon Himself and paid the full price for our sin.  When we get to heaven we will not have to pay for any sin.  Jesus defeated Satan by paying the full price for our sin. Satan has no more against us that he can take into the court of heaven and get a judgement against us.  God delayed the judgement from Adam to Christ looking forward to the resurrection of Jesus.  Jesus was crucified before the foundation of the world. It was when He actually went to the cross and died on our behalf that mankind could be set free from sin and sin consciousness.  When we receive Jesus, His obedience is accredited to our account and we are born again of His life and righteousness. The new birth gives us new desires of righteousness which can only be fulfilled by relying on His life in us.

“And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me;” ‭John‬ ‭16:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is a day of judgement coming for the world.  We will not be a part of that judgement. Those who have not received Jesus as Savior and Lord are judged on their own merit and stand guilty before the court of heaven.

Our job on the earth, working with the Holy Spirit is to proclaim to the world that God is not angry with them anymore and that they should accept His free offer of love.

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬
