Worship

Devotions:

Our worship is not something that is initiated by us but by God. Our praise and thanksgiving are in response to what He has done for us. He inhabits our praises and true worship comes as a response to His manifest presence from our praise and thanksgiving.  God accepts only what originates with Him.

“And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.”  ‭Exodus‬ ‭20:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The children of Israel could have thought that they could cut the stones and polished the stones to make an altar but God said that if they touched it with a tool it would pollute the altar.  Our worship is not something that we think up but what we do as the Lord leads us and shows us from His word.

Much of what is called worship today originates from the soul realm of man and has no foundation in the word of God.  Our worship is ministering to the Lord.  Many songs minister to people and not to the Lord. This has its place but it is not worship.  Worship is God focused not I or me focused.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." ‭John‬ ‭4:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The more we worship the Father in spirit and truth the more anointing wil be present to destroy yokes and lift burdens.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”  ‭Isaiah‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬
