Fellowship With The Lord
Devotions:
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 KJV
The end of our salvation is fellowship with the Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Here Jesus states that He is seeking such fellowship. He is initiating this fellowship, standing at the door and knocking. This was written to believers, the church at Laodicea. Too often we give all kinds of excuses as why we do not answer. We intend to answer when we get time but because we do not make fellowship with Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit the top priority, we never get around to it. When we see it as the absolute privilege that it is then we will delight to spen quality with them. Also when we realize our total dependence on them then we will make it our daily business to spend the time.
Jesus said that if we would answer the door, He would come in and eat with us which is fellowshipping. He is knocking. You may not hear. Many times we do not hear because we are distracted, but if you will answer He will be there to feed you on His spiritual food.
