Precious Promises

Devotions :

      “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."  ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭KJV‬

      We have God's promises for everything that we need for life and godliness but hey are not going to just fall upon us. We must receive them in faith. We must believe that God cannot lie and what He has said in His word, He will do. So we believe and act like His word is truth even in the face of contradictory circumstances. Satan is a master of creating contradictory circumstances. As we embrace God's promises we will escape the corruption in the world. Satan manipulates  us through our desires. We must chose God's promises over our desires. God's desire for us to partake of His promises is far greater than our desire ven when we know what a tremendous blessing they are. The corruption that is in the world is a creation of Satan and was designed to steal, kill and destroy. He deceives into thinking that the corruption is a blessing and like Eve looking at the forbidden fruit and desiring it because he believed that the fruit would make her wise. She chose to act on her desires rather than believe God. She suffered the consequences. But we have savior!
