Identity

Devotions:

Who we are is not defined by what we do.  What we do is defined by who we know we are.  We are not to be defined by our culture or circumstances but by the word of God.  We will act according to how we see ouselves regardless of who we are.  When we see ourselves as sinners saved by grace then we will do what sinners do, sin. But when we know that we are new creations in Christ Jesus and are the righteousness of God in Christ then we will act that way.  The world wants to identify us as abnormal, we are but not in the way that they mean, we are supernatural. Our own thinking sees ourselves as just humans but we are not, we are Sons of the Most High God, created in His image and likeness.  We were born again to do the works of Jesus and manifest the glory of God, the goodness of God on the earth.  This is who we are.  We are loved by God with an everlasting love. Because we are in Christ Jesus we are always favored by God, we are always in His blessings, we may not know it and so do not access His blessings and favor.

Our identity is from the word of God and we must study the word until we have God's image painted on our hearts so when the devil accuses us of something that is contrary to who we are we do not agree with him but instead resist him with the word of God. Victory is ours but we will not experience the benefit of it if we do not take it by faith.
