Faith and Patience

Devotions:

“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:12-14, 16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Believers many times stand in faith to receive from a promise of God but give up before they see the manifestation thinking they missed God. If our prayer is based on God's word the we have asked according to His will and we will see the answer because God cannot lie. One of the ploys of Satan is to convince us to give up on our prayers because we do not see an immediate answer.

When we pray we are to believe that we receive the answer then, then as much as we can act like we have the answer but we may not see an immediate manifestation. We keep believing that we have received when we prayed and as much as we can we act like it has manifested. It is helpful to continually review the promises from the word that we based our prayers on.  As Abraham did we must be confident that God will keep His word to us. The more that we are sure that God has said it and He will do what He has said, the more that a gap from when we asked and when we see it manifested does not concern us at all. How do we become confident? By meditating in His word and praising Him for the reality that is promised.
