Abiding Word

Devotions:
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 ESV
Here is a prayer promise that assures us answers to prayers. This first tells that we are not to look at our circumstances nor our past experiences with prayer but we are to keep our focus on Jesus and His love for us. We are to purposely focus our minds on Jesus as the answer too our prayer. We are in Jesus because of the new birth but it our faith in this fact that brings results. God cannot lie so as we consciously look to Him and His promises we will receive the answer that we need.
The second part of this promise tells us that our prayers must be. Founded on the word of God. Not only that but we must. Have that word in our hearth and not just mentally agreeing with it. We must know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is true and it is true for you and me. This word that we are standing on is our weapon of warfare against the doubts and unbelief that the enemy tries to put in our heart to defeat us and not receive. As Jesus did, we must say from our heart, "It is written....!" We also must keep the promises fresh in our minds by reviewing them often.
Then number three is that we must ask and believing it is done when we ask even though we do not see immediate results but we believe it is done because the word of God says it is and God cannot lie.
