Forgive

Devotions:

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”  Ephesians‬ ‭4:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Forgiveness is essential to the kingdom.  God forgave us in Christ Jesus by Jesus going to the cross in our place and dying for all of our sins.  His manifestation of love creates in us a reciprocal love.  This love is expressed in our willingness to forgive others.

When we received what Jesus did for us and are born again He imparts His eternal life to us.  He comes to dwell in us.  He cannot help but forgive those around us even if they are mean and cruel to us because when we were yet sinners, He died for us.  The ability to forgive even deep wounds comes from yielding to His presence in us and allowing Him to forgive through us.

If we do not forgive we open the door for Satan to come and torment us in our souls and bodies.  When we forgive we close that door and open the door to healing emotionally and physically.  God has forgiven us and empowered us to forgive so when we are reminded of the  offense we speak blessings to the offender.
