Faith to Recieve

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In Hebrews 11:6 the author says that there two qualifications to please God by faith.  First we must believe that God is, this is not just that God exist but that He is a personal intimate God.  He is the God of the now, the ever present God,  the "I am that I am" God. He is not that God that is far off in heaven, seated on His throne, distant but He is here intimately involved with His creation.

Secondly we are told to believe that God is a rewarded.  That is that God is a good benelovant God who longs to bless His creation.  He is the only rewarded in the universe and we are to be like Him.  There is not a mixture of good and evil in God, of blessing and cursing in Him but only blessing and good.  When we understand the character of God, good, then we will approach Him expecting good from Him.  We will then be bold in our approach to God to receive grace and mercy.  If we see God as evil and vindictive then we will be very cautious to approach God if we approach Him at all and we certainly not expect to receive from Him.

The more we dwell of the goodness of God the easier it is to receive from Him and to not give up as we pray just because we do not seem to get an answer immediately.  Based on His goodness, when we ask according to His word, His will,  we believe we have received what we ask for and we stand our ground believing God cannot lie so we have what we asked for.
