Righteousness Poured Out

Devotions:

“And Ephraim is as an heifer that is taught, and loveth to tread out the corn; but I passed over upon her fair neck: I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow, and Jacob shall break his clods. Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”

‭‭Hosea‬ ‭10:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here in Hosea God says the Judah shall plow... The name Judah, means to praise God and thus coming into intimacy with Him.  In Psalm 22:3 David says that God inhabits the praises of His people.  As we praise God, His presence, the very presence that Moses refused to enter the promised land unless God's presence went with them, that very presence manifest as we praise God from our hearts.  We are to live a life of praise unto our God.  Hebrews 13 the author says that we are to offer the sacrifice of praise even the fruit of our lips giving thanks unto His name.

The latter part of the verse from Hosea says to break up your fallow ground.  How do you do that? In the natural is by plowing. So. In the realm of the Spirit we are to break up the fallow ground by offering up the sacrifice of praise.  Breaking up fallow ground is heard because fallow ground is ground that has not been plowed in a long time or never has been plowed so it is hard.  But as we turn our faces to seek the Lord through our praise and thanksgiving for what He has already done for us then the Lord will rain righteousness upon us.  But we have to be determined to seek the Lord with our praise and thanksgiving until we see the outpouring of His righteousness upon us, that is His Spirit being poured out.
