Walking in Life
Devotion:
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Proverbs 14:12 KJV
“And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.”
Leviticus 26:27-28 KJV
“O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.”
Jeremiah 10:23-24 KJV
We think that we are smart enough to figure out how we should live but our way is not within us. We have been marred by sin and so in our brokenness we fail. God's law just tells us where we missed it but it cannot help us to do right. God overlooked their inability to walk perfect with Him as long as they tried. In the New Coivenant Jesus lived totally perfect and totally fulfilled the law. Then He took our sins, trangressions and iniquities upon Himself and died under the penalty of them. thus we were forgiven. when He rose from the dead we were in Him and rose with Him to new life, resurrection life that is holy and righteous before God with God's holiness and righteousness. Now as we follow the Holy Spirit we are led in the ways of prosperity, health and life.
Even as a Christian wen we try to go our own way, the way of the flesh we end up in disaster and destruction. It may not be immediately evident but the end result is always death. God wants us to walk in His way because they are the ways of life. John 10:10, Jesus came to give us life and that more abundantly.
