Be Being Renewed By His Glory

Devotions:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are not saved by good works, We are not saved by any of our works.  We are saved unto good works. Salvation is from the time of our new birth until we receive a body like unto Jesus' body.  So it is not our good works that transforms us but by the mercy of God.  The washing of regeneration is the baptism of the new birth when we are made new creations in Christ Jesus and we receive His righteous, holy nature.  Our spirits are made new.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are not transformed or changed by our own efforts but by acting on our righteousness coming into His presence so we behold His glory, His goodness. When we enter His glory we behold Him and it is a mirror image of who we have been made.  We then accept the reality of who He has made us and His Spirit changes us.  Paul, here in Titus calls this the renewing of the Holy Ghost.  We cannot change ourselves but as we come into His presence through out praise and worship, acting on our righteousness in Christ, the Holy Spirit changes us.

We could not make ourselves born again, we just accepted what Jesus did for us.  We cannot transform our bodies like unto His, this is what Jesus will do for us when He returns for us. We also cannot transform ourselves, this is what the Holy Spirit does when we yield to Him is our praise and thanksgiving and worship.

Paul says in Romans 12:2,, "be you being transformed by the renewal of your mind." Our mind is renewed by the revelation of the Spirit of who we are in Christ. He did not say for you to renew your mind or to transform yourself but to allow the Spirit to do it. You are totally dependent on Him.
