The Value of His Name

Devotions:
“Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” Acts 3:6, 12, 16 KJV
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:12-13 KJV
Peter and John knew the authority of the Name of Jesus because they had spent time with Him as He trained them by teaching and example. they used His Name to restore the man crippled from birth and were God's instrument to do a miracle. As they acknowledged it was not based on their personal holiness or power but the holiness of Jesus and His power. The power, prestige, character of a man is reflected in his name. If he is no good or of little value then his name is no good and of little value. But the Name of Jesus is of great value, prestige and power as demonstrated by the apostles. They go on to say that there is salvation in only the Name of Jesus and no other. Salvation is not just going to heaven but by the power of His Name, walking in heaven on earth, free from sickness and disease, free from financial worry, free from fear and worry, free from temptation and sin and all the wiles of the enemy. It is by using His Name. But you must spend time with Jesus to understand the value of His Name to be able to use it.
