Belt of Truth

Devotions:

        “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” ‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        The first article of the armor of God is the belt of truth.  The men at that time wore robes and to fight they would gird their skirt up with a belt to keep it out of the way.  The belt held all of the tools and instruments that the man needed to fight.  Paul says to have our loins girded with truth. The word of God is the truth so we must know the truth from the word of God.  Satan opperates on lies because he has none of his own authority so he lies to us and steals our authority.  As we are going out to do the Lord's bidding Satan attacks us with lies of sickness and disease, lies about our finances, lies about our family. Satan manipulates our circumstances to make these lies look real and if we accept them they will be real in our lives.  Jesus said that if we continue in His word we would be His disciple in deed and we would know the truth and the truth would set us free.  John 8: 31,32

        It is essential to fight without our legs getting tangled up and us tripping and falling. So the belt of truth is essential to eliminate confusion about what is ours in our salvation.  If we are confused we cannot be in faith to receive our inheritance.  To know the truth we must spend time in the word of God daily and listen to the teacher, the Holy Spirit.
