A Tender Heart

Devotions:

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;” ‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In our daily walk with the Lord we must cultivate a tender heart.  The Holy Spirit leads us through our heart, He bears witness with our heart.  When we resist His leading in whatever matter we harden our hearts towards Him and it makes it harder to hear from Him.  The breastplate of righteousness also means that we have free access to our Father at any time because of the blood of Jesus.  He is our righteousness.  When we do resist His leading, the door is always open to return to Him, repent, and agree with Him that we should have listened.  If you ever refuse to listen to His leading you will find it to be not a good move on your part.  Our Father only has good things in store for us and He is trying to keep us from the snares of the enemy who hates our soul.  The breastplate of righteousness protects our hearts where the Holy Spirit dwells so the enemy cannot steal our access to the Father.

In 2 Chronicles 35 Josiah the king of Judah was a good King, God was with him and he prospered.  But He decided to go against the king of Egypt and died because this was not God''s plan.  When we step out on our own without God's leading we put ourselves in grave peril. Hearing from God is essential in this life.  The breastplate of righteousness protects our hearts so we can hear from God. When we treasure God's leading by the Holy Spirit we will maintain a tender heart.
