Authority

Devotions:

“Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.” Hebrews‬ ‭2:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus operates through His body on the earth.  He will not operate apart from His body. everyone who is born again is a part of that body. So the head is waiting until the body uses the authority He has given us and enforce the victory that Jesus already won for us.  We first need to know the authority that we have in Jesus.  Jesus defeated the enemy by the cross.  We were in Jesus when He defeated Satan, we defeated Satan.  But if we are not aware of this fact, the enemy will convince us that he is still in control. If we do not know or we do not act on our authority in Jesus, then the enemy will take the authority.  God can take no authority on this earth because He gave all the authority to the church.

When we were born again we were made the righteousness of God in Chirst.  By this righteousness we have dominion over all the work of the enemy.  As Jesus was master over sickness and disease, so are we.  As Jesus was master over demons who tempted Him and who oppressed others, so are we.  As Jesus was master over even death, so are we.

Working with God we have the privilege to put the enemy under the feet of God and enforce Jesus' victory.  If the church does not do this, it will not get done.  You can be significant by acting on your righteousness in Chirst and exercising your authority.  You do not have a blanket authority. Know your authority and act,
