The Light of Life

Devotions:

        “In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” ‭John‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

        Darkness is the absence of light.  In the scriptures darkness represents evil. Jesus has the life of God in Him because He is God.  Darkness can never overpower that light.  If you walk into a dark room and switch on the light there is no great struggle of darkness against light.  The darkness flees when the light is turned on.  When Jesus walked the earth sickness fled His presence, demons begged Him not to cast them out, crippled and maimed were healed by His hand.  This is the manifestation of the light of God, His life. No evil can stand in His presence. 

        We have the life of God in us if we are born again.  That is the same life that Jesus possesses now and more that when He walked the earth.  This life that we possess is the resurrection life of God that has a proven track record of overcoming all the powers and devices of the evil one.  He overcame all our sin to set us free.  Jesus had to have faith in the life within Him and take His authority. So must we know the life in us is from God and exercise our faith in that life. When the light switch is turned on darkness has to flee.  When we are tempted to sin or fear if we bring it to the light, that is not who I am.  I am a son or taught ear of the Mowt High God with His nature and character.  The light within you is stronger than any of the powers of the enemy. Walk in that light of Life.
