Pentecost

Devotions:
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:1-4 KJV
Jesus became our sin on the cross so that when we receive what He did for us we would become His righteousness. The disciples were born again after Jesus' resurrection and before His ascension to the Father to be glorified. As His body then when He was glorified, the glory flowed down onto His body and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and power. This infilling was and equipping to do the work of the ministry as Jesus did. The infilling is still necessary today. With the infilling came with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Speaking in tongues empowers the believer and should be a daily practice. By praying in tongues you can more easily walk in the spirit and in the victory of the Lord. As you pray in tongues daily your ear becomes more sensitive to the voice of the Spirit who leads and guides you. Praying in the Spirit you pray out things that your mind does not know because you are praying as the Spirit gives you the utterance. As we pray in the Spirit, the Spirit will give us the interpretation, sometimes words to speak out to deal with a situation. The Spirit shows us things to come that pertain to our lives so we can prepare for them. Jesus said that we were to pray, "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." Matthew 6. This is the Father's will and one very effective way He has of doing this is by us praying in the Spirit and receiving the interpretation as He wills. Walk in your Pentecost. Spend time praying in tongues today.
