Abiding

Devotions:

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

John‬ ‭15:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In Mark 5: 24-33 the woman with the issue of blood reached out and touched the hem of Jesus garment.  Jesus was covered with the power of God so the woman's touch of faith released the power of God and healed her.  Jesus did not even consent to the power flowing.  But the power of God flows when it is touched by faith.  It will always flow when accessed by faith.

Secondly Jesus was covered with the power of God.  Jesus walked in that power and He said that if we would abide in Him we would walk in the power.

“By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Jesus walked in power and so we are to walk in the power to do the miracles to demonstrate the love of the Father.  Abiding in Jesus is to keep our eyes focused on Jesus and what He has done.
