Our Works
July 19, 2017
Devotions:
We are so works oriented that we act like our salvation depended on our works. We cannot earn our salvation, it is a gift. The start of walking out our salvation is to know that we are pleasing to the Father because we are in Jesus, without our doing anything. When we are born again we are put in Jesus.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 KJV
“Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” John 6:28-29 KJV
Our works cannot save us, only the works of Jesus can save us and will save us to the uttermost. Our works then come out of our love relationship with our Father not to get us saved but because we are saved. Our works come from our celebration of our relationship with God. What the human heart cries out for is to know that we are unconditionally loved. God offers this unconditional love which makes us whole. We take hold of our wholeness in Jesus by choosing to believe what the Bible says.
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”
Colossians 2:10 KJV
