Confidence in God

Devotions:

Many times we try to help ourselves or look to others for help instead of looking to God.  Even when we pray we then try to manipulate a solution ourselves.  When we pray we are just hoping that God will hear and answer positively. God does not answer hope but faith.  When we are confident He will answer because we have established our prayer on His word.

“Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭108:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here the Psalmist cried out to God only. He knew that help from man was in vain, even from his own hand.  His victory was from God. His confidence was in God's victory. We have an even greater victory in God. We also know His willingness to act on our behalf because of Jesus' willingness to go to the cross for us.  When we are in trouble we should call out to God knowing His great desire to help us and He will.  Remember that our victory is through God, not our own strength. Our part is to hear and obey.
