Tongues, a Gift For Today

The second greatest gift that God has given us is the the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. When we speak in tongues we are speaking the mysteries that God has in store for us. These mysteries are made known to our spirits and as God then gives us the interpretation our mind is then edified to the will of God for our lives.
“But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-13 ESV
We cannot even imagine the great things that our Father has in store for us. God wants to reveal then to us. In the Old Testament God could not reveal His wonderful plan because the people were not born again. Their spirit was not made righteous, they only looked forward to what we have now. When we pray in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit of God we pray out the wonderful mysteries that God has planned for us. We have the privilege of then praying out the wonderful things that God has for us by praying in tongues daily. Do not just possess the gift, use it!
